A group of five Transition Students from St. Brendan’s Community School, Birr are participating in the Pope John Paul 11 Awards. As part of their parish work, they were helping with ushering at Sunday Mass and sanatising afterwards.
When the Level 3 restrictions came into force they expressed a desire to find a new way to help. As a result, they are coming to St. Brendan’s Church each Saturday morning at 10.30 a.m. and helping to prepare the altar for online Sunday Masses. They also assist with some light cleaning and sacristan duties in the Church. It is commendable that they give freely of their time on their day off, to help their local Parish community.
