Topic: Changes in the Church today

To: all Parish Pastoral Councils

Lay ministers of the Word and

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

in the Abbey and Tradaree Pastoral Areas

The Invitation: The Diocesan Adult Faith Team is very glad and privileged to host a Saturday morning talk/discussion/workshop at the Pastoral Centre beside the Cathedral in Ennis, on Saturday morning the 1st March next from 10 am to just 1.00 pm. With this note we invite all members of the Pastoral Councils to attend and sincerely hope that you will do so.

The talk will be given by Fr Michael Conway who is Professor of Faith & Culture at Maynooth, and the subject will be broadly as given above – Current Changes in the Church – and how we might respond to the changes.  Fr Conway is a fine and engaging speaker who has worked for some time on the topic and we can assure you that it will be an interesting morning. This will not be an academic lecture – it will be a talk geared for us lay people especially.

As with each AFT event, there will be a facilitated discussion when all those attending will have an opportunity to contribute should they so wish – no pressure, but if you have a point to make, then please make it.

We believe that you will really enjoy this event and that it will be of real benefit to you personally as well as for the Pastoral Area, and will look forward to meeting you there.
